Well, folks, that’s 2024 packing up its bags and heading down memory lane. 2024 was busy, hectic, exciting, adventurous and bold! We’ve had a lot of fun this year at Kukoon and hope you have too. So, grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join us as we celebrate a year of achievements at Kukoon.
Kukoon’s Top 5 Highlights of 2024
1. Yes, bigger is always better.
It’s time to size up! 2024 was the year that you went bigger! Bigger rugs means bigger joy (in our opinions anyway). We saw a big shift to buying bigger rugs. Sizing up from a regular to a large or XL rug will help frame your space so much better and provide a much more natural flow to your home. This is especially important when putting a rug under a dining room table, under a bed or under a sofa - the wrong size will just throw your feng shui off, trust us! Time to get those measuring tapes out…
2. And the Oscar goes to….
Zoe! We couldn’t let the year come to a close without mentioning our very own home grown talent, our dazzling leading lady; Zoe. Zoe has stolen the spotlight this year, consistently ranking top of the best sellers chart. She’s won Golden Globes, Oscars… will anyone knock Zoe off her pedestal in 2025? Will Zoe’s neutral beige tones continue to dominate in 2025 or do we hear a colourful rival nipping at Zoe’s heels?
3. Kukoon’s Colour of the Year
Our Kukoon customers have spoken and their answer to the Kukoon colour of the year is loud and clear - beige and only beige will do! You have been embracing the calming tranquility of neutral beige tones this year as it has dominated the Kukoon colour charts leaving everything else in its dust. Beige mirrors simplicity and reliability while reinforcing an earthy connection to the natural world. Will there be any room for a colour revival in 2025?
4. Let’s work together
2024 saw some eagerly anticipated collaborations with two of our favourite artists - Jacqueline Rooney and Frances McBain. The excitement at Kukoon HQ hit fever pitch as we planned these launches; we couldn’t wait to bring these amazing designs to you! Local renowned artist, Jacqueline Rooney, is well known for her captivating use of vivid colours and mesmerising brush strokes, from immersing sunsets to stormy skies. If you need a burst of colour in your decor; we’ve got you covered! Thank you Jacqueline!
Frances’ style is influenced by environmental soundscapes, organic forms and the beauty of nature. Her abstract brush strokes are hypnotic yet unpredictable; they emulate emotion, they tell a story. How do these pieces of art make you feel? Thank you Frances!

5. Awards Season
And the winner is…Kukoon!
We were humbled and honoured when it was announced in November that Kukoon were the winners of two awards at the Ireland’s Home Interiors and Living Awards this year. We are still jumping up and down with excitement (that’s over 1 month of jumping by the way) over winning Top Retailer of the Year and Best Use of Digital Marketing.
The Kukoon Tribe is the beating heart of Kukoon and these awards would not have been possible without the hard work of every single Kukooner. Here’s to Team Kukoon and an exciting 2025!
