Rug Care Guide
Love your rug and it'll love you back
A little care keeps you loving your rug for years. Here's everything you need.
Everyday care
Vacuum little and often. Dirt that sits in the pile slowly wears it down. A vacuum with strong suction and a rotating brush works best, but check the material guide below first, as some rugs prefer the brush off.
Creases from delivery? Totally normal. It's just how rugs travel. Roll it up tightly with the pile facing out and leave it in a warm room for a day. Then roll it from the other end and leave it for two more days.

Check that it'll fit your machine with the guide below.

Spills and stains

Good to know: always test a cleaner on a hidden corner first. Skip laundry detergent and creamy hand wash, as they can leave a sticky residue.
Stubborn stain? Try equal parts white vinegar and warm water, or our stain remover spray. Still stuck? Call in a professional rug cleaner.

Care by material
Synthetic. The easy-going one. Vacuum with the brush on and use any mild cleaner. Just don't scrub hard.
Wool. Turn the brush off for loop-pile wool, or it'll go fuzzy. Use as little water as you can, dry it fast, and never use bleach.
Jute and sisal. These stain easily, so act fast. Speed up drying with a fan or a hairdryer on low.
Silk. Beautiful but delicate. Leave cleaning to a professional.
Bath mats. Machine wash at 30 to 40°C and tumble dry on low. Rubber or latex backing? Dry it flat, never on a radiator.
Doormats. Shake out or vacuum often. They're washable with a mild detergent, just let them dry fully before use.
