Renuu is a collection like no other. I don’t think I’ve ever been as drawn to a collection like I am with renuu. Renuu offers so much potential. Not just to me as a designer, but to every home out there.
THERE’S SO MUCH ABOUT RENUU THAT MAKES IT UNIQUE.
Not only is it made from 80% recycled cotton (a tremendous leap forward for the rug world) but it has some fantastic practical features which, in this age of careful and purposeful purchasing, are really important.Our renuu rugs can be washed in a washing machine and using nano technology, are liquid repellent. This means that if you spill anything on them, the liquid will sit on top of the rug, without being absorbed, so it can be cleaned without leaving any stains which is a huge bonus for any household, especially busy kitchens and high traffic areas.

Renuu is much more than just a practical rug, it has a heart and soul. It has a story to tell. Our renuu collection is made up of 12 unique designs with each design having been carefully chosen to tell a different story; to bring something unique and individual to your home. That’s what’s beautiful about it. It’s inspired by our own histories, stories and traditions. It is shaped around appreciating the details and stories behind traditional Persian, Bokara, Kazak and Kashan rugs but also contemporary abstracts and artistic prints.

As a designer, renuu has given me so much enjoyment. When thinking about a new design quite often I already have colours in mind that I’m drawn to and want to design with. I love colour theory and exploring new colour combinations. One of my favourites is the triadic combination of green, purple and orange which inspired Lottie Green, our design influenced by the Cottage Core aesthetic. The colours came first and the cottage core flowers and nature inspired elements stemmed from that.
I’m also a big fan of sketching. I can never go straight onto the computer, even if it’s just initial ideas or buzz words. There’s something about having a pencil in your hand that allows creative freedom. Freedom to find your way, to scribble out, to try again. All the different elements you see I always draw a rough sketch of them first, from the tiny flowers to the bigger chandelier medallion.
